Food Devils tooltips, stats & Glossary
During a Food Devils encounter, press Escape or select an empty map tile to open the context menu, then open the Glossary. Use it for reference information such as classes, movement types, the Flavor Triangle and stats.
For nested tooltips, the updated Demo’s Info control opens them with one press. In Skill Equip, select the relevant adventurer to see information including HP, movement type and class.

Choose the reference tool for your question
| What you need to understand | Where to look | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| A general mechanic or term | Encounter context menu → Glossary | The relevant class, movement type, flavor or stat explanation. |
| A nested term inside a tooltip | Info control | Open the nested information rather than guessing from the skill name. |
| Which adventurer you are equipping | Skill Equip | The selected portrait and that unit’s HP, movement type and class. |
| What the current encounter requires | Top of the encounter screen by the round counter | The objective and remaining time before allocating actions. |
These paths follow the developer’s documented interface changes. They do not assume a particular key binding for every input device beyond the documented Escape/context-menu route.
Inspect the intended unit before assigning a skill
- Open Skill Equip and select the adventurer you intend to change.
- Check the selected portrait; the July update darkens the others to make the active unit clearer.
- Use the displayed HP, movement type and class to understand that unit’s role.
- Read the skill’s effects and nested terms before deciding whether it supports the selected Master Rule or encounter goal.
An exclamation mark over Skill Equip in the Overworld indicates new skills are available to equip. It is a prompt to inspect them, not proof every new skill belongs on the same unit.
Practise one mechanic at the Training Grounds
The Training Grounds are accessed from the area outside the restaurant. The developer describes them as small puzzle-like simulations arranged by difficulty, designed to teach and test individual mechanics.
If a glossary explanation still feels abstract, return there between expeditions and choose a relevant lesson. Use its actual objective and feedback to practise before combining several systems in a run. This guide does not invent solutions or completion rewards for individual training puzzles.
Do not troubleshoot the June interface in the October Demo
The early June player discussion raised missing or awkward Master Rule tooltips, party information and flavor explanations. The developer acknowledged several of those improvements, and the July update added the Glossary, simplified nested Info and expanded Skill Equip information.
If your interface differs from these documented features, check which Demo build you are running. A June complaint is not proof the same feature remains missing today. For an unexpected current issue, record the screen, version and input method before using the developer’s F9 report form.
You have the information you need when…
You can read the relevant term, confirm which unit you are viewing and explain how the skill or rule affects the action you are about to choose. For the next step, apply that information to the actual rule or preparation task.
